Daniel Hirt is a 5th year in the Architectural Engineering Program with a focus on structures at the Pennsylvania State University.  Daniel will graduate in May of 2016 with a Bachelor's in Architectural Engineering.

Professionally, Daniel has had two internships related to his study in Architectural Engineering. The first internship during his Junior year was at CALYX (formerly known as Mulkey) in which he learned about the daily work of a Structural Engineer, solidifying his decision to pursue the structural option within the AE program. The second internship which occurred during his 4th year was at Baker, Ingram and Associates. Throughout the course of this internship Daniel worked on a wide range of projects performing structural design and analysis as well as some forensic engineering.

At Penn State, Daniel pursues extracurricular activities such as being the Professional Relations for the  Structural Engineers Association club. This club allows for a community development between all those currently within the structural option and those in AE thinking about pursuing the option. Activities such as attending Steel Day, the Steel Conference, Professional Lectures, and many others provide a resource for the growth of the Structural student body.
